Sharyl Attkisson, ex-CBS reporter and award-winning journalist, just wrote an article about why we aren’t holding Hillary Clinton up to the same standards regarding her lie about dodging sniper fire in Bosnia in 1996 that we are with Brian Williams’ multiple lies.
The media protected Hillary and never challenged her veracity for fear of damaging one of their own. Seven years have passed since Hillary told that lie and that same shameless dereliction of duty is undoubtedly going on here with Williams—this time by one of the very media outlets expected to report the truth.
So how can the NBC brass fire Williams for the same crime that went unpunished by Clinton? Simple answer, they can’t and won’t. The precedence was set with the refusal of the media to call out Hillary’s lie. To now hold Williams to a standard that would undoubtedly harm the messenger as well as the message would leave open further scrutiny of Hillary at a time the Left does not dare tarnish their future president.
If Williams keeps his job the final demise of a free and secure press will be realized. As Thomas Jefferson so wisely stated; “No experiment can be more interesting than that we are now trying, and which we trust will end in establishing the fact, that man may be governed by reason and truth. Our first object should therefore be, to leave open to him all the avenues to truth. The most effectual hitherto found, is the freedom of the press. It is, therefore, the first shut up by those who fear the investigation of their actions.” –Thomas Jefferson to John Tyler, 1804

Saw a story today that the oldest man in the world just turned 112. If I were to make it to that age I would have lived and second 56 years. Hell, if I can still see, hear and wipe my ass at 112, I’d do it.
I checked Wikipedia and saw that the 10 oldest humans are all women and surprisingly six are Americans.
