Pat Robertson’s recent declaration that Haiti’s woes were due to their pact with the Devil now join the insane rantings of actor/activist Danny Glover. Glover just declared the earthquake a result of climate change and global warming.
Says Glover, “When we see what we did at the climate summit in Copenhagen, this is the response, this is what happens, you know what I’m sayin’?” Glover’s comment comes at 2:00 into the interview.
This is the perfect example of why the fringes, on either side of the political spectrum are dangerous. Here we have two whack-a-do’s, one from the left and one from the right, making absurd claims to justify their views. How about this for a reason the disaster happened…
IT WAS A FREAKIN’ 7.0 EARTHQUAKE IN A REGION OF HIGH TECTONIC ACTIVITY THAT’S BEEN ACTIVE FOR MILLIONS OF FREAKIN’ YEARS!
Couple that with third world construction techniques and you’re gonna have a major disaster. Thank god it didn’t happen over night when virtually everyone in the country would have been in a dwelling. We’d be looking at a death toll that would dwarf anything ever seen in modern times.
If you feel the need to help I would urge you to make a donation to the charity of your choice. The American Red Cross, Save The Children Foundation and Catholic Relief Services all have boots on the ground and do excellent work.
Please say a prayer for all the victims and all those bringing aid.
